Re: Recent Camera Work

I was using the Nikon 85mm F1.8 for most all of them and some Nikon 50mm F1.4 on a digital body.

Re: Recent Camera Work

First session with Joanne. I definitely want to shoot her again. I was using one umbrella for most with an SB800 bouncing up the ceiling.

Re: Recent Camera Work

I need to get back to working with my lighting setup, I've been very busy with work lately and have barely gotten a chance to use it... You have inspired me to make it more of a priority...when I get back home from this work trip...and the one coming up next week...and before I move in Oct...well I'm going to try anyway! Thanks for posting!

Re: Recent Camera Work

I have the living room cleared out because I purchased a new rug. I set the white umbrella onto a light stand with my White Lightening strobe unit. Also, I got three pocket Wizards. I can place two SB800 flash units on separate light stands. I can use all of these lights at once or one at a time. I can also just use the two SB800's for off camera lighting by placing them onto light stands without the White Lightening unit. The SB800's trigger themselves with the Pocket Wizards. It is much better than the built in Nikon triggers.

Re: Recent Camera Work

SB800 works well for fill flash with a serious Nikon camera. It did not work well for me when I had the D70 and D70s cameras. The built in sync is ok indoors but I went with the Pocket Wizards this year. It is a nice flash unit but the menus are awful to navigate.

Re: Recent Camera Work

Ive heard the same about the 800. The new SB900 addresses the menu concerns and adds a few more features.
