One thing I would consider is refraction. Did you use lens hood? I have read digital cameras are very sensitive to light entering at the wrong angle. If it shows up in a lot of photos then you have to test all the variables. Is it lens or lighting or does the sensor have flaw (like an lcd with dead pixels) etc. Also I sometimes see flaws after processing like opening the shadows. Can you look at the original -Raw. If you shoot jpg the camera may have flaw in its process. If you have a raw photo still on the card can your computer covert that to jpg.
