I was working on this portrait today and I placed it on my website. It was shot in 2004 in Chicago in a high rise hotel.
The dancing pic with text is an attempt to salvage a pic that I once thought had potential. What do you think?

I love the first one, the very shallow dept of field may be attacked by some but I love the image its a real keeper, I like to rate to 10 so I would rate it a 8, you have her sole in the photo. I can see it in her eyes. Well done!!!!

I don't like text in the second photo. sorry I just don't.
your telling me what the photo already said! its redundant.

Beautiful indeed!
I'll echo Chimpers words here with one exception:
I can totally see what you'd like to do with the second picture. Yes, it's a very tender moment captured nicely. However, I think that an emotional saying would only work if you could see dad's eyes in the picture.

William, how do you relax enough during a wedding job to be able to do your thing? I get very stressed. I feel hurried and it's hard to stop and let the creativity flow . . .

The first attempt with the portrait was to see how shallow I could get with the depth of field just to see if it would look good.I usually insist on at least F4 for a pic like that and I have not done F2.8 or less in years.I think it worked very well with this pic and I added it to my website.http://williamkazak.com
The second pic is an attempt at a wedding text effect.I am not sure what other use a text effect would have in a wedding pic but I would listen to suggestions if anyone has any to offer.
Weddings are easier for me now with Nikon autofocus lenses and the very nice Nikon SB800 flashes. Also, with the Nikon D70s I can check the pics as I shoot like a Poloroid test shot. This assures me that all of the bounce flash effects are working.

What I appreciate most about the "preview" capability of digital is the ability to check bounce flash effectiveness! -And the histogram . . .

As far as wedding text effects, I have only seen it used a couple of times, and have used text in a wedding album only once. I recall that the text was very pretty itself, it was just a word or two splashed in the margins.

Here's an example of what I mean . . . it's a quick job, and I'd rather not use brown but . . .
