I went home over Thanksgiving and got to go see my hometown heckey team the Rockford Ice Hogs! The first four are action pics, the fifth is of the "Fire and Ice Girls" and the last one is of Hammy Hog, one of the team's mascots. C/C welcomed!

Like the action shots what lens did you use? Lighting in the ice ring can be tricky I have tried this before with little luck.

Thanks! All were taken with a 70-200mm f2.8 lens (my favorite!). I use a high ISO, usually about 800, and set the exposure manually for consistency and check the histogram until I'm dialed in. The light varies considerably from arena to arena which can make it challenging!
